Bastard Swords are the further development of the common one handed sword. This type of weapon origins in the 13th century and is known to be a response to the developmments in armour at the time. The utilization of the plate armour was increasing rapidly in that era which required a two handed weapon to be effectively countered. The Bastard Sword was basically a longsword with an enlarged grip that made it possible to be wielded with two hands if needed. Unlike the two handed swords it was still possible to wield the Bastard Sword single-handedly. This weapons advantage was its versatility. Get Dressed for Battle provides this Bastard Sword made by Paul Chen (Hanwei). The blade is made of steel with an high proportion of carbon and has a length of ~96,52cm. The total length is about 125,73cm and the weight amounts to ~1,64KG. This Bastard Swords comes with an scabbard made of light colored leather that matches the leather of the grip.
