During the Early and High Middle Ages coifs were quite common and often used in combination with padded arming caps. While an arming cap protected the combatant against the force of an blow the coif protected him against cuts and stabs. This coif by Get Dressed for Battle is long enough to cover the shoulders and is made of a mixed weaving of 6mm rings. The rings are half riveted with round rivets.
