Details

Hanwei's inspiration for this Bastard Sword was the sword of the austrian duke Albrecht II of the 15th century. The weapon displays a simple and classic design and is just decorated with the symbol of the Habsburg dynasty on the knob. The progressing development of new armor types was the reason the Bastard Sword was developed as a further stage of the longsword. A longsword had not enough momentum against a plate armor but a longsword with an enlarged grip that allowed to wield it two handed at times was a different story. Get Dressed for Battle is providing a matching scabbard for the Bastard Sword that is included in the delivery. The total length of the weapon is about 113cm and the blade length is around 88cm. The Bastard Sword weighs ~1,47KG.
