Details

The original of this reconstruction was found by accident in the river Witham in the year 1788. The sword was an relic of the battle of Lincoln that took place in 1141. The engraving says „+NDXOXCHMDRCHDXORVI+“. Paul Chen who is manufacturing the Witham Swords replica is using the methods of the Middle Ages. By waiving on a finnishing polish the sword gets an extra authentic look and feel. The only modern method used in the process is the choice of steel with an high proportion of carbon to make the product more durable.
